Our experience is mainly with dysarthric speakers rather than dyslexic
ones. Like all such assistive technology it all depends.......
As many have said, some individuals will find it very useful and others
not. It has to be tried, and not just for half and hour. The addition of
voice feedback from Keystone can make the system more viable for those with
severe problems, and in this case it would be worth considering the Classic
edition rather than Naturaly Speaking. Unfortunately I can't get the
homophone system in Keystone to work with DD, perhaps that is because my
version of Keystone is not up-to-date. textHELP is of limited assistance
because it speaks on <space> and thus is always one word behind!
Version 5 of NS is very good, much less training and back to the voicebar
approach - much better I think than being embedded in Word. It also works
very well one word at a time - quite accurate.
Mick may have more to add
