Dear all,
there has been concern about a letter some people have received from the
Hull LEA regarding charges for dyslexia tuition. The LEA have agreed to pay
up to £25 for individual sessions in accordance with Skill's recommendation.
The Disability Directory for LEA Awards Officers has been recently updated
and LEAs should now have the most recent (4th) edition of the Directory. The
Directory provides the following recommendation:
'charges range from £18 to £35 per hour for individual sessions or around
£12 to £25 for group sessions'.
This advice is given on page 38 of the latest edition. The same charges for
individual tuition were also recommended in the 3rd edition of the
Directory. It would be worthwhile quoting page 38 of the Directory to
clarify these charges with the LEA and please contact Skill's information
service if you have any further concerns.
Regards,
Paula Grogan.
