Sarah, when they are living on college property I have not had
to pay council tax when I was a support worker.
Off campus, it is down to the support worker as they should have
volunteer status on the scheme.
Accomodation fees for the support worker should come from the
overall bill for their services either through wages which
includes accomodation allowance or wages which includes free
accomodation.
If you are working with the volunteer support schemes it may be
of worth for you to keep in contact with us as we are probably
the closest university to you who run the scheme.
