GUIDELINES ON COST OF INDIVIDUAL SUPPORTS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES.
Higher Education Institutions through DAWN are working to ensure access to effective support services by students with disabilities. As part the work of DAWN (Disability Advisers Working Network) the following guidelines on rates of payment for individual supports provided to students with disabilities have been agreed.
1. Notetakers £10 per hour
2. Reader £10 per hour
3. Additional tuition (academic) £15 per hour (postgraduate)
£28 per hour (lecturing staff)
4. Sign Language Interpreter rates set by Signlink
5. Specialist Tuition/ £30 per hour
dyslexia support
6. Educational Support worker £10 per hour
Research assistant/
Classroom assistant/
Library assistant
7. Amanuensis £10 per hour
8. Assistive Technology £30 per hour
Training
9. Scanning/brailling UCD/DIT to review and report
10. Transport
milage rates

11. Personal Assistants rates set by I.W.A./C.I.L

13. Software prices to be sought
