Data Protection and Back-up Security Copies.
Could help me clarify what actions if any I need to include?
In the First Transitional Period, back up copies of automated data are
exempt from subject access. (Schedule 8 Section 12)
Is the implication that after the first transitional period, data subject
access must include these security copies?
I could partially understand copies of files still in a directly accessable
and processable form but to include security copies that are specialised
"dump" copy facilities is way over the top in my mind. In many cases these
files are usually restored over the current file location desroying the
current file, which had developed a problem.
Firstly, is this the correct interpretation for Section 7 and Schedule 8?
Or
Is there more information that I have not considered?
What is your understanding of the requirements for including security copies
in an subject access request search?
Thanks
Roger Glover.
