Our Social Services dept. (SSD) is looking at the issue of teenage
pregnancies for Looked After Children. They need to find out pregnancy
rates of those in care and those leaving care over the past few years.
To acquire this data Social Services will need to pass onto the health
authority the names of those in care for them to let us know
percentage rates etc. So although we wouldn't be finding out
individual information from the health authority we would need to pass
them a list of names so they can carry out the calculations.
Is this a possibility without breaching the Act? Your comments please.
My personal opinion is this is only possible if the purpose for which
the information was originally collected hasn't changed, we have a
disclosure to the health authority and the data passed back to SSD is
anonymised data.
What do you think?
Regards,
Jody
