I see Webcam as being totally different from CCTV. The latter is used to pursue the legitimate interests of the data
controller in protecting people and property and preventing crime, the former is nothing more than a gimmick. And my
feeling is that publishing on the Web makes a huge difference, as it breaches the Eighth Data Protection Principle - not to
mention being a gross invasion of the privacy of individuals, who are unable to prevent their images being published on the
Web if, for example, they need to enter the building or walk along the street where the Webcam is sited.
