To clarify Amber's message about the two events on 10th and 11th
February.
We have chosen to run the first of the DPA workshops (11th) the day
after the information strategies conference on the 10th so that people
attending the 10th can also attend the 11th *
The event on the 10th concerns data protection and information security
issues in general- the DPA has implications for this and is one of a
number of topics that will be covered that day.
The event on the 11th is entirely devoted to the DPA. The aim of this
event (and the other three) is not only to learn more about the
implications of the DPA but also to share information about what we
already know and to develop consensus on any problem areas so we can
lobby the DPR for possible exemptions. People will be expected to
input to the discussions on the day.
The main speaker for all four of the DPA workshops is Andrew
Charlesworth who is also presenting at the Information Strategies
Conference on the 10th
We are putting together a list of London hotels that the organisers of
these events will send out with joining instructions as we hope this
will provide further networking opportunities for those involved with
data protection.
Jane
* We appreciate that the date of the 11th is short notice especially
for those who have already made travel arrangements for the 10th but we
felt it would be a good opportunity for those who can make both dates
to run the sessions back to back.
