I did not hear the broadcast but surely there is no problem in
teh grannies and parents taking pictures as long as they are for
domestic use? Section 36 of the Act.
Problems could arise with commercial use.
Also, in response to a query I raised with the Information
Commissioner's office (formerly ODPC - renamed under Freedom of
Information Act!) I was told by them that passers by did not
present a problem in taking photographs of people who just
happened to be around in a scene.
