I have read that new guidelines for the use of CCTV were adopted by the
British Standards Institution on 15th December (BS7958:1999 Code of Practice
for the Management & Operation of CCTV). The guidelines were I understand,
developed in cooperation with the Association of Chief Police Officers, Home
Office, British Retail Consortium & others and address privacy and data
handling.
