Dear list members,
Could anyone tell me on what grounds QAA inspectors can
'require' access to student personal data when carrying out
an assessment of a particular subject area at a university?
I have been told by someone in my institution that he needs
to retain applicant data (both failed and successful applicant
data) for a number of years in case QAA people ask for
various statistics at their next visit.
Do they have a statutory right to access? (if so, under what
enactment?)
Does the university have to get consent from the individual
students for their data and work to be looked at by the QAA
team?
Any thoughts welcome. Thanks.
Best wishes,
Adrian
