I'm sure that institutions are not profiteering by charging
£35 pound per session for dyslexia support. Indeed this
figure was first calculated around 6-7 years ago, based on
part time lecturing hours, plus on-costs. Since then there
have been annual cost of living increases of around 3-4%,
making the real figure over £40 per hour. If a service is
to exist full costs have to be charged. If the Unions
succeed in achieving the substantial pay rise the are
currently campaigning for it would cost even more to run
the service. Inflation still exists when it comes to wages,
(which is why the charges are made).
