Anywhere between 5 or 6 pounds an hour although upto £11 might be normal (if
employed directly) but if employing through an agency, most agencies will
take a commission/hourly charge so if employing through an agency, this
would have to be taken into consideration when applying for funding ie
DSA/LEAs etc. I am not sure of exact figure, but I have heard of agencies
charing in the region of £15-£18 per hour in total. This is obviously
subject to regional variations.
Hope this helps,

I have just been contacted by a blind student about to embark on a Modern
Languages PGCE Secondary. The student is preparing to recruit a Learning
Support Asst and is wondering what sort of hourly rate is the norm (I know
there won't be a norm as I am writing this!)?
Any info/views very welcome.
