Within Higher Education the rule for references is that a data subject
cannot view the (top) copy of a reference retained by the reference
author. However, a data subject IS entitled to view any copies
received by an intending employer.

Dear Members
Please could you help? Is it mandatory under the Data Protection
Act to let staff see references written about them by the employer?
Thank you for your help.
