Congratulation to Roy Carr-Hill and David Gordon on this issue - and
especially on its timing! It looks as if debate on Iraq will be part of
public debate for some time. Information on all the important political
events relevant to the war have been in the public domain for some time.
The Hutton enquiry has served only to to justify, to condemn, and to
confuse. Nothing really new has been said for months. Ths issue of
Radstats should play a major part in informing future debate becasue it
brings together evidence that is difficult for anyone to dispute.
How to try to ensure that this happens?
I have copied David Gordon's piece 'The Cost, Consequences and Morality of
War in Iraq' to my MP - Phyllis Starkey. David Gordon's 20 pages give a
comprehensive picture going back to the 1991 Gulf war, and brings together
hard evidence from a wide range of sources. It should be useful to
anyone who has the opportunity to express themselves politically in the
debate. I had already been in 'discussion' by email with my MP - Phyllis
Starkey. So it was easy to download Gordon's paper from the Radstats
website and post it to her.
The large majority of MPs now have email. See the list at
http://www.parliament.uk/directories/hciolists/alms.cfm.
Any other ideas?
