Dear Eduardo,
I believe it is not only a matter of visual conditioning but also of
task conditioning. We may be far too preoccupied with solving the riddle
rather than taking a minute to contemplate and truly take in the
stimuli.
I'm sure that, following that experiment, many students may realize the
process of seeing, the distinction between looking and filtering, may
even "unlearn" to see, going back to looking first, in order to see,
second: I'd call that a successful lesson indeed!
Best,
Daniela
