the wholism / reduction shift is built into the process of seeing-as-reflection - it might be fascinating to experiment but the stability in seeing occurs at the logical level regardless of the ecology/biology/physiology/psychology.
We elect stabilities as part of the pleasure. This election seems to underwrite our identity. Equally, it draws our identity into question. The balance between these shifts is as much a question of sensibility as it is of disposition: that is, I can cultivate shifts and I can find shifts to be appointing or disappointing.
