Subject: [GEM] The wheels on the bus.....
Hi.
Killhope Lead Mining Museum in Weardale and The Bowes Museum in Teesdale
(along with other partners) are working to find funding to be able to
provide subsidised transport for schools wishing to visit these museums.
Both museums are in rural areas.
As part of this we would like to develop activities for children to do on
the bus on the way to and from our museums. We want to make the journey as
much a part of the learning experience as the museum itself - especially as
the areas are so beautiful and rich in contrasts. Typical journeys may last
between 40 minutes and one hour and are likely to go through urban, rural
and remote rural areas.
We do have some ideas, but does anyone have any general ideas for
activities that won't induce mass travel sickness? !
Also - I would really like to hear from anyone who has found funding for a
subsidised travel scheme.
Many thanks,
Sarah
