> ..."Re-Tracing the Past" is a novel interactive exhibition developed by
> the DC project SHAPE (Situating Hybrid Assemblies in Public Environments)
> in collaboration with the Hunt Museum in Limerick, Ireland.
>
> The SHAPE Project focus is on creating hybrid environments that allow
> visitors to actively interact with features of both physical and digital
> spaces. Through a multi-disciplinary team comprising researchers from four
> European Universities including the University of Limerick, SHAPE is
> specifically investigating these issues of hybridity (mixing technologies
> with everyday objects) and assembly in the context of public spaces such
> as museums and exploratoria. The Interaction Design Centre (IDC) at the
> University of Limerick has been coordinating the design and development of
> the exhibition over the past two years.
>
> In "Re-Tracing the Past" visitors will be able to explore information
> about mysterious objects in the Hunt
> collection by interacting with the fixtures and fittings of
> technologically enhanced exhibition rooms. They are encouraged to propose
> their own interpretation of these objects, which will be recorded and
> added to the community memory of the exhibition.
> The Hunt Museum is one of the three Museums to exhibit a SHAPE Exhibition
> that will feature work from some renowned European Universities, as
> partners in the SHAPE project together with the University of Limerick
> are: the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), the University of
> Nottingham (UK) and King's College London (UK).
