Develop your techniques in dealing effectively with people by attending this
exciting new workshop
Assertiveness for managers
8 September, London
Today's working environment, with its shift towards flatter structures,
performance management, employability and different relationships is putting
an increasing emphasis on the personal credibility of individual managers.
Expected to work with a wide range of people today's information and library
managers undertake a broad range of problems and tasks. The successful
management of this complexity requires a 'toolkit' of techniques, which are
appropriate to an ever increasing range of people and circumstances.
How will this event help you?
This new workshop has been requested by a number of managers who recognise
the need to reflect on their own approach and rebuild their confidence in
order to feel truly effective. It will encourage you to assess your
behaviour and remind you of a range of techniques and their use in a variety
of circumstances.
By the end of the day you will have:
* explored the use of assertiveness in helping you to feel more
confident in your changing role
* assessed your own behaviour in a variety of circumstances
* considered practical techniques for motivating staff, delegating an
unpleasant task, handling difficult colleagues and customers, dealing with
bullying and aggressive behaviour, and resolving conflict
* exchanged ideas and approaches in a supportive and confidential
environment
Workshop leaders
John Hudson and Beryl Morris, Hudson Rivers.
