BUILDING BRIDGES TOWARDS THE NEW MILLENNIUM :
CREATING A NEW AGENDA FOR THE INFORMATION COMMUNITY
17 - 20 October 1999, Bruges, Belgium
The 1999 EUSIDIC Annual Conference in the historic city centre of Bruges
provides a forum for content producers, distributors and users to get
together and discuss the issues and challenges facing the information
community in the year 2000 and beyond.
The event will formally begin on Sunday 17th October with an opportunity
for delegates to explore the city of Bruges, either as a group or
individually. For those arriving on Saturday 16th October there will also
be some planned activities.
A combination of formal presentations and practical case studies from
practitioners are scheduled. The full details will be available from our

circulating the final programme by 1st August 1999 in a separate flyer as
well as in our journal 'Newsidic'.
THE CONFERENCE
The Organising Committee (Jo Vandenhende, Martin van Boom, Daphne
Tomlinson, Frank Toolenaar, Paul Blake, Ger Bijster and Dominique Vanpée)
has scoured the information world looking for speakers with a depth of
knowledge on their specialist subjects and are making the final
arrangements for other participants & experts in their respective fields to
attend.

Fees
Book before 10th September and EUSIDIC will offer a special rate.
Members - 450 Euro Non-Members - 700 Euro
Book after 10th September and the rate changes to
Members - 500 Euro Non-Members - 780 Euro
If there is a 2nd person from the same organisation interested in attending
the conference, they will be granted a discount on the fee providing they
book BEFORE 10th September. The fees for the 2nd person atttending will

Saturday
Guided tour of the city (if those who arrive early express an interest).
Sunday
Guided tour of the city in the afternoon (includes a boat tour)
7.00pm - Cocktail given by the hotel, followed by dinner

Evening - visit to a local brewery and reception at the Town Hall
Tuesday
Walking dinner in 'The Retsin' restaurant.
