Although Outlook and O365 are both MS products and may be slightly more
integrated, I've personally never had any issues at all connecting any
desktop client to Google Mail just using IMAP. I currently use Postbox
for Mac, have previously used Mac Mail, Outlook on a PC, Thunderbird on
both. Gmail client on Android, iOS mail client on iPhone... pretty seamless
I personally like a desktop client, but I know almost everyone starts
using Gmail and never goes back - understandable, it's lightening fast,
searches are blistering. Also it's super ace being able to grab a link
to an email or search...
