Hi all
One of the winning teams at the hackathon I was at in Estonia this weekend created a VR based quiz using objects sourced through Europeana, placing them in contextual VR environments - in the case of the demo, the ruins of a village in WW1.
Two questions
- can people give good examples of in-museum or museum focused VR experiences?
- what level of interest is there within institutions to experiment with VR as a different form of visitor experience?
All comments welcome as it will help them develop their concept. Any experts in the field we can consult with?
Cheers, James
PS the only example I have personally tried was in a photography exhibition at the National Archives in NL who did a virtual exhibition room to explore more of their collections. But in that case, personally I'd have preferred I nice touchscreen interface to a well presented version of their catalogue
