I wonder if I am the only subscriber to the GEM list to be wondering if this is an appropriate topic for discussion here?
There is clearly a dispute about how the BBC’s presence at Alexandra Place should be interpreted in the redevelopment of the site, but I do not feel (and I suspect that many others reading this share the feeling) that I have enough knowledge of the historical and, er museological, issues involved to have a valid opinion one way or another on the proposals, so I certainly won’t be signing ANY petition for or against these proposals.
These kind of spats all to often resemble old-fashioned light bulbs, which generate far more heat then light, and so might they be best conducted in a forum other than this list?
Regards
Richard.
