The seventeenth-century ecclesiastical historian of Riez, Simon Bartel, claimed that this Eudochius was otherwise known as Eusebius and that under that name he had been the first bishop of Riez. See:

Whereas Bartel's claim is both unsubstantiated and rather dubious, its very existence suggests that at this time Eudochius / Eusebius had no particular cultic prominence either in Riez or elsewhere in the region.
