You present the worst case scenario for texts. The variety of non-perverse readings us no where near as vast as you suggest. Indeed, the examples you give of interface objects is closer to poetry objects which are themselves a kind of highly developed affect interface. The subtlety of the variations in uses and readings simply indicates the wealth of knowledge and interest we have in affects rather than indicating the vulnerability of multiple readings to some expected intended authorial meaning. Affects are sophisticated rather than rudimentary which then allows for a expanded cognitive domain.
