Are you a Geography/Citizenship teacher who wants to use the local
environment to deliver sustainable development and fieldwork opportunities
to your pupils?
This half day CPD seminar for secondary teachers and those involved in
Built Environment Education will focus on the Bristol Harbourside
development and sustainability.
Organised in partnership with Planning Aid and Employability Skills at
Connexions the event will provide:
• Useful networking opportunities with a range of local professionals
from the built environment and education sectors
• A chance to explore relevant current teaching and learning resources
• Opportunity to discuss views and contribute to the development of a
new teaching resource
• Opportunity to make beneficial links with outside agencies, who
could support your delivery of sustainable development and work related
learning

Context
This ‘Building Bridges’ seminar forms one of a series of ten CABE Education
and Architecture Centre Network free Regional Networking Seminars taking
place from January to March 2005, in partnership with Architecture and
Built Environment Centres across England.
The aim of these seminars is to encourage debate, provoke new practice and
promote the sharing of information on built environment education between
teachers, regional Architecture Centres and built environment professionals.
