9 month old boy. Several episodes of not being well, then presents with
seizures, hypotonia, encephalopathy and some unusual movements.
ALT has been 221, now 81 iul/L
Urine metanephrines not raised
Amino acids, organic acids unremarkable
Anti-Yo, anti-HU, anti-RI antibodies negative
Serum AFP > 6,000 iu/mL on several occasions. HCG not raised.
Liver MR unremarkable, awaiting results of liver biospy.
Any list or experiences of causes of high AFP at this age would be very
helpful.
All suggestions appreciated.
