From the spreadsheet it looks as though it is cheaper to do a Biochemistry
test rather than a Chemical Pathology one! You don't suppose this is behind
the proposed speciality name change?

Subject: Pathology National Tariffs
We have been asked to do some preparatory work for the new financial year
for primary care, using the Pathology National Tariffs.
Was anyone out there involved in providing data, as according to the DoH
document the pricing is by Test, not Set, and having looked at this year's
proposed figure, if we use it as a Test cost, then we would over-recover
the department's budget almost threefold.
Has anyone else tried this, or know if they have just got the unit wrong,
as with the older Telepath system, trying to extract Test data is a
devilish job, and I can't believe that their unit of currency is correct.
I'll be happy if I am wrong, but then does anyone know how to get this
additional funding out of the Trust's bank account??
