Dear All
I am writing to let you know that we are still taking bookings for the
Opening the Doors seminar on Tuesday 29th April 2003, which will be held at
the Custard Factory, Birmingham.
Opening the Doors is a three-year programme of work aimed at encouraging
young people to visit museums and galleries outside of formal education, and
to use the resources they offer. The project is managed by Artswork and the
Museums Association, and receives funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and
the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales.
This seminar aims to inspire, inform and explore the difficult issues
arising from this kind of project work. The day will include presentations,
discussion groups, workshops and a marketplace.
Speakers include:
Suzanne Rider, National Co-ordinator, Opening the Doors
Emma Hawthorne, National Trust, Regional Learning, Community &
Volunteering Manager, Birmingham
Peter Thornton, Youth Arts Management & Training Consultant
Nicky Boyd, Museum Education Consultant
Maurice Davies, Deputy Director, Museums Association
Ruth Jones, National Director, Artswork
Please find below, and attached, a seminar programme and booking form. If
you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely
