(Apologies if you have received more than one copy of this message.)
Interested in assisting at the birth of a new online publication
developed exclusively by and for museum educators? You are invited to
participate in the formative evaluation of _Museum Education Monitor_.
Details below.
There is already more information on the Web and in print than most museum
educators have the time or energy to access. The purpose in developing
_Museum Education Monitor_ (MEM) is to provide a shared road map to new and
existing English language resources for the professional development of
educators in museums, galleries and related non-school settings around the
world -- with the end goal of supporting the advancement of museum education
theory and practice.
Specific objectives are to:
· Reach and link as many of the intended audience members as possible
· Present MEM in an accessible form, both technologically and intellectually
· Present MEM on a break-even basis so that it is affordable both for
educators to subscribe and for me, as an independent professional, to
produce.
This report will provide links to new and current websites, articles, books
and research on museum education and interpretation. It will monitor English
language listervs and
professional journals based primarily in Canada, the United States, the
United Kingdom, and Australia. A full list is available upon request.
