Hi Mike
Dr John Gill, the chief scientific officer at RNIB has done a lot of
research into accessibility of Information and Communication Technology
Systems and guidelines are available at: http://www.tiresias.org/ which
include info on accessibility of keypads. Sensory Design Services, a
consultancy wing of RNIB may be able to help with the design of the handset

hope this is of use
best wishes

Subject: Keypads
Hello all,
I wonder if anyone can help with the following requirement
We are looking for a keypad to provide a user interface for a virtual
reality world, for use by visitors with limited dexterity and, possibly,
visual impairment.
The keypad will need to have the following keys:
One each to move forward, backward and to spin left and right (4 in total
for moving around)
One each to raise the viewpoint up and down (two in total for looking up and
down)
One each to activate animated items and text files (two in total for
interaction within the VR environment)
So, in total we will need 10 keys with appropriate colours and indicators of
their function.
Your help will be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Mike
