Try St. Gregory Palamas' Homily on the Dormition. Actually, I should think that the entire Byzantine cultural area would furnish you with numerous instances. Although you call the thematic style "more prominent (or at least visible)", my impression is that this is not true either for eastern Orthodox Christianity in the later Middle Ages or for western Greek-language Christianity during the same period).
