National Seminar: Assessing History Students

This national seminar is designed to provide new and experienced historians
with the opportunity to learn about good practices and new developments in
the assessment of History students, and to share ideas about the benefits
and challenges of trying to improve the assessment of student learning.
The programme, led by historians, will consist of:
· short introductions to key topics and trends in History assessment;
· case studies of good practices and innovations;
· workshops on practical issues and problems;
· plenary discussions.
There is no charge for this event. Tea, coffee and a buffet lunch will be
provided courtesy of the Subject Centre.

11.30 am Increasing Variety in Student Assessment: Case Studies and
Workshops on Assessing Groupwork, Seminar Performance, and
other developments
1.00 pm Buffet Lunch
2.00 pm Improving Feedback on Student Learning and Assessment
3.00 pm Plenary Discussion
4.00 pm Tea
