The Subject Centre for History, Classics and Archaeology is pleased to
invite you to submit proposals for ICT Development Grants in History,
Classics and Archaeology. These grants could assist lecturers who want to
introduce or refine ICT-based teaching on a small scale in their individual
modules.
Five grants of £1,000 each are available for small projects undertaken by
teachers working in higher education.
Project proposals should:
-- Focus clearly on using ICT in teaching History, Classics or Archaeology
(or a combination of these disciplines).
-- Focus on the application of existing technologies or resources in
learning and teaching. This could include:
o using bulletin boards, online discussion, or online groupwork
o integrating existing electronic resources into teaching
o encouraging students to use new media for essay and/or seminar
presentations
o evaluating your existing use of ICT in teaching and learning
-- Clearly demonstrate the learning objectives of the proposal
-- Show how the impact of the project will be evaluated
-- Lead to a conference presentation, and a report on the project to be
made freely available to the wider academic community
-- Be achievable in the time and for the budget
The closing date for submissions is January 31 2003.
Applicants will be notified of the decision by 31 March 2003.
Projects must be completed by the end of December 2003.
