I am currently the education officer at Catalyst, The Museum of the
Chemical
Industry in Widnes, Cheshire. I am due to go on maternity leave on 20th
October 2000 and am looking for a temporary replacement to cover my
absence
between the beginning of October through to the end of February 2001.

Salary £16,000 pro rota
Catalyst is a unique interactive museum which explores the science and
technology behind the chemical industry and its impact on everyday life.
Winner of a range of prestigious awards, including the Gulbenkian Museum
Education Award, we aim to provide an educational experience for schools
and
the public designed to make learning stimulating, challenging and fun.
We are looking for an enthusiastic temporary education officer to manage
and
deliver our educational programme. Key tasks will be managing visits
from
schools, colleges and the public, teaching our innovative hands on
workshop
programme and assisting in promoting effectively the education service
to
schools.
High on out list of priorities is the ability to excite people about
science
and technology. You must hold a teaching qualification e.g. science
degree
followed by PGCE or a BEd degree with science as your speciality. You
must
have excellent organisational skills.
The post is for 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days leave pro
rota
(plus public holidays)
