Systematic review of 'Management of Haemophilia A:
patients with inhibitors'
The Research and Development directorate of the NHS
Executive London would like to commission a systematic
review in the above topic.
The review will cover:
1. Epidemiology/incidence
2. Options for management, and intellectual rationale
3. International experience
4. Trial evidence
5. Cost effectiveness
6. Future research questions
It will be necessary for the successful researcher/s to
be BASED IN THE UK and to be experienced in undertaking
systematic reviews, but specific knowledge of haemophilia
is not essential. Clinical advice to support the
review can be commissioned separately by the NHS Executive.
The successful applicant/s will be required to register the
project with the relevant Cochrane Review Group, and adhere
to Cochrane requirements as well as produce a fuller review
considering all available evidence.
We would like to commission the review to begin during March
2001 and be completed by the end of September 2001.
Expressions of interest
If you are interested in undertaking this review, please submit an
expression of interest by 5 pm on Thursday 8 March 2001.
The expression of interest should briefly outline:
·the proposed project plan, timetable and costs (not more than
two sides of A4)
·details of the relevant experience of the applicant/s, experience
in doing systematic reviews and any familiarity with the literature
·the curriculum vitae of the organisation for which they work.
