Museums Education Development Officer

Part time for 1 year
Up to £12,000 pa (for 24 hours per week)
Applications are invited for the post of Museums Education Development
Officer to work across
8 fully registered museums in West Sussex, without specialist education
staff, to ensure they develop their maximum potential as providers of
educational services. The museums involved include local authority and
independent museums, with and without paid staff.
Candidates should have at least five years experience of working in museum
education -including experience of delivering training and advisory work and
also producing educational resources - with, preferably, a post-graduate
museums qualification.
It is essential that candidates have good communication skills; can
demonstrate diplomacy and sensitivity to a range of museum environments and
staffing situations; have enthusiasm for the small museum sector and be
motivated self-starters who can develop and deliver the project.
The post will be based in the Chichester area at a museum with dedicated
museum education staff.
