Hello all GEM contacts, English Heritage and National Trust education staff.
I have been commissioned to write an article for the Times Education
Supplement on behalf of Maths Year 2000 as part of a special supplement to
be published in January. If you would be interested in promoting your
site's good practice in numeracy through this feature, I would appreciate
BRIEF WRITTEN details of innovative numeracy schemes at any site (i.e. could
be a discovery centre, historic house, country park etc as well as a
museum). Please indicate whether you could provide hard copy of trails,
activity outlines etc or photographs and don't forget a contact number. I
will contact you if I need more information.
My deadline is December 10th. Please forward this to any colleagues
outwith the your own network who might be interested. I know you are all
busy and appreciate your help.
For your information, Maths Year 2000 is working with MGC, engage and
English Heritage to produce a helpful guide on numeracy planning/activities
for museums and other heritage sites, so help will be available from that
source in the New Year if you need it. I understand NT is planning its own
publication.
Best wishes and regards to all former colleagues.
