Tim
In general I agree about the personal stuff, but the issues raised have
been important (both about mgt. competence and about how we deal with
each other). I hope you will also have spotted some excellent
contributions - I have picked up some really useful references and
material, and have been stimulated to think about how things are done,
both here and 'live' as well. Sometimes conflict is very creative.
I also find the recent debate seems to have helped some of us (well, me
at least!) to realise what a great potential the mailbase has. Maybe
you could kick off a discussion that will generate a similar level of
interest, and we can work hard at the good behaviour. (I presume humour
is still OK?)

* I have been watching the debates on this mailing list with some
* amazement over the last few weeks. Frankly, I am disgusted to think
that
* people I would class as colleagues can be so rude to each other in a
* public forum. As a result I am getting close to unsubscribing. Surely
we
* as professional educators can keep debates positive and constructive,
* and keep personal attacks and abuse in private where it belongs.
* So much for educators preparing students by example..
