Purely locally and anecdotally, primary teachers are so under the cosh
withLiteracy and now Numeracy they are saying they can't spare a whole day
out. Hence our figures have increased this term because (we think) schools
can visit us for half a day, with a deal done locally with the transport
services dept. Primary (and advisory) teachers are also very concerned
about the place of humanities on the curriculum, and they see it as being
squeezed out by Lit, Num, PSHE, IT etc - those areas are getting all the
resources at the moment .
