Dear Ingegerd,
If you are interested in churches constructed close to a "holy Spring", I
suggest you look in <Danmarks kirker>. I just took a look at the volume for
Soroe Amt, and found that of the about 130 churches in the county, 9 had
"holy springs", Since there are about 1000 churches in Denmark, this might
indicate that there might be as many as 60 "holy springs" in medieval
Denmark. Often there are little stories about these springs. One sticks in
my memory - the "holy spring" at one church healed those who bathed in the
spring. After a farmer brought his sick horse to the spring, and washed in
the water, the spring lost it's power to heal.
The <Editorial Guidelines to Danmarks kirker> may be found at
http://orb.rhodes.edu/encyclop/culture/artarch/Danish/Danindex.html
These <Guidelines> will tell you just where to look for "holy springs" in
the fascicle for the individual church.
Good hunting!
Jim
