Does anybody know when and [esp.] why the feast of Mary ad Nives began to be
celebrated in medieval England? (It turns up in some Sarum breviaries from
the end of the 15th century and later, but not in any of the earlier ones
I've seen.)
I think I asked this last year, but didn't get much of an answer; so I'm
trying again. I'll be grateful to anybody who can shed light on this little
mystery.
