Otfried, I'm in a bit of a rush. Going to Oxford tomorrow, with lecture
just about completed.
But the provincial council of Arles (1263?) was called by an Archbishop who
(as I recall) served on the earlier papal commission; I had no response to
a query I posed to the crusaders about him--he went out to the Holy Land.
Anyway (it is all in Mansi, *Sac. Concil*), the condemnation is more
sweeping than previously, but it was only a provincial council. My interest
was the possible connection with 1260-61 and the flagellant movement.
