You might look at K.W. Humphreys, The Friars' Libraries, London: British
Library, 1990. If I'm not mistaken Humphreys also published a work
entitled The Book Provisions of the Friars; I'll check the reference and
send it on.
The Carmelites put their book provisions in a chapter of the
Constitutions entitled De fratribus decentibus et eorum libris. Some
