New subscribers are instructed to introduce themselves to those already on
the list. Although interests are necessarily broader than what one writes
about, published work shows the areas I've read about. Reviews and
semi-popular works: an essay on the conciliar movement, a general church
history in the Prop. Weltgeschichte, several essays on political practice
and thought, especially that of the Italian city republics, and
appropriate chapters in the Longmans general history of Europe. Original
research and archival work: the social, political and ecclesiastical
history of the town (and region) of Toulouse during the twelfth and
thirteenth centuries when Catharism was a serious alternate religion or
cult, when it at first flourished and was then repressed. Intentions on
joining the list: mostly to find out what's going on in church history.
