looking for a Freelance Storyteller
Brief: Storyteller to deliver stories for audiences at the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool which will add value to our visitor experience.
Introduction
The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool (NMRNH) is a superb recreation of an 19th Century seaport that brings to life the time of Nelson, Napoleon and the Battle of Trafalgar. The centre piece of the museum is HMS Trincomalee, a Georgian Royal Navy vessel built during the ‘Age of Sail’. NMRNH is currently in the process of undergoing a phased regeneration plan, which will improve the site and its facilities for all audiences.
As part of this process, NMRNH want to appoint an experienced storyteller to facilitate the delivery of nautical themed storytelling sessions for our visitors during February half term. We believe that the right storyteller will provide an opportunity to better engage our audiences with the museum.
1. Purpose and Scope of the work
NMRNH want to appoint a storyteller to deliver exciting and entertaining nautical themed stories that will be suitable for all ages, engaging children, families and adults alike. We hope that the atmospheric recreation of period buildings in the Historic Quayside and the restored 201 year old Royal Navy ship, HMS Trincomalee, will provide the perfect location and backdrop for the storytelling sessions, immersing families into a world of adventure on the high seas.
We are keen to build a strong relationship with an experienced storyteller that can add quality and value to our holiday programing and encourage increased footfall. If the sessions prove popular with our audiences, the storyteller will be retained on the booking database in a freelance capacity.
We require the storyteller to perform five 30 minute shows between the hours of 11.00 and 15.30 on Wednesday during February half-term 2019.
2. Management of the Booking
