Gunnar,
Appreciate your sentiments and this note. I do feel lucky to live in this very special place! Alas today it can’t be seen for all of the smoke from the fires that have erupted all over British Columbia - we are currently living under an eery pink sun. Here climate change and it’s implications are always close at hand/ part of the discussion, as is a growing acknowledgment of the complex histories of this land, and the need to relocate our assumptions of how and when to contribute.
Moving forward, I do intend to start up conversations and take part in the back and forth of the listserv. For now, however, I will concentrate on the start of our Fall 2018 semester - setting things in play for a new and returning cohort of Design students here at Emily Carr.

I haven’t kept track over the years but I’m guessing that half of what I’ve said here has just been ignored. People regularly disagree with me. I regularly disagree with others on the list (and elsewhere.) I don’t believe that I have suffered any harm (other than occasional bouts of exasperation) and if I have harmed others, I wish someone would make me aware of it.
