Hello
This last summer term has seen a marked increase in our school visitors at Belton House, especially those who wish to lead their own visits. This has caused some clashes between the school's needs and other visitors while also putting increased strain on certain parts of the House and Gardens.
We have lots of information for schools already that has been created over the last 10 years which looks a bit of a mish-mash of styles/voices and needs updating into a more useable and cohesive offer. However with this increase and the resources we have we're looking at being more pro-active in creating and providing resources available for teachers to download on our website, whether that is orientation/welcome videos, trails or simple guides for adult helpers.
I'm at the start of thinking about this project and I was hoping that other museums and historic properties that have undertaken similar work might be willing to share their experiences, advice and also role profile if they had to employ someone to do this work with them.
As always I'm happy to collate and share any feedback.
