Project Manager - Army Museums into the Future

AMOT has recently secured funding from Arts Council England to deliver a programme of activity to support the army museum's sector between October 2016 and April 2018. As a result, AMOT wishes to appoint an experienced consultant to manage the project 'Army Museums into the Future' between 1st December 2016 and 30th April 2018.
The overarching aim of this programme is to ensure that AMOT develops a programme of support to transform the army museum's sector into one of resilience and adaptability. The following outlines the key aims and objectives of the role:
1. To successfully deliver the project to time and to budget
2. Embed regional networking structures across the country and support museums on the ground
3. To develop a programme of governance change
4. To better understand and develop army museum collections
5. Develop a programme of support for army archives
6. Investigate economies of scale and implement
7. To develop an online platform fit for purpose
8. To provide a comprehensive programme of events, training, and online resources and information for all army museums across the network in a variety of formats
9. To ensure marketing and communications is embedded across all programmes within AMOT providing a consistent message to members, partners, and supporters alike
Budget allocations and additional resources are available to support the delivery of these programmes as outlined in the brief
Advantageous experience, skills and knowledge:
Experience and skills:
• of managing multi-faceted national programmes, preferably in the heritage sphere
• in delivering short-term funded programmes to time and to budget
• of appointing and managing freelance consultants and contractors
• excellent partnership management skills
• excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge:
• an understanding of the heritage sector, where possible of the museums sector
• a willingness to develop an in-depth knowledge of the army museums sector
